Wastewater Collection
The Wastewater Collection Department conducts inspection and preventive maintenance programs designed to prevent wastewater problems from occurring while extending the life of the system. We maintain and operate a grease trap program by systematically inspecting grease traps and educating customers on grease, fats, and oils that clog drains. This department also cleans, vacuums, tele-inspects and grout seals the collection system gravity mains and manholes.

If sewer lines are broken or leaking we also are responsible for repairing and/or replacing gravity lines, laterals and force main pipes due to breaks or damage. We also inspect new sewer taps on new construction to verify that all necessary requirements have been met.
Wastewater Collection routinely assists the Engineering Department with field changes and advises on discrepancies between record drawings and actual field conditions of the wastewater collection system. It also provides Engineering with information on the aging sections of the collection system and makes recommendations for replacements.
